In the history of O'Hara Ultimate we have had several players that stand out among all others. These players have been selected to be part of the Waste of Fame. To be inducted into the Waste of Fame, players must display incredible skill, uncanny spirit, make a revolutionary change, or totally embody what it means to be a Waste of Life and an Ultimate athlete.

The Waste of Fame inducted the first members in 2007, and will continue to add players as they graduate. The only requirement is that a player be graduated to be considered. If stats were kept, they have been included, not all players have statistics.

Class of 2005

Steve Heckman
First captain of O'Hara Ultimate, discovered PHUEL, brought team into competition. Without Steve, the team would have never gotten off the ground.

Brian Duffy
First assistant captain of O'Hara Ultimate, the original handler, the original curly fro.

Jim Anderson
Holds single game scoring record with 13 goals, defined the stall position.

Chris Waite (Chester, Bubba)
The very embodiment of a Waste of Life.

Jack Protesto
Never came to practice, never stopped running on the field.

Chris Poarch
Shut down defender, set the standard for the middle defender in the vaunted 2-3-2 defense.

Mike Hushen
Always in the endzone, always catching with one hand.

Class of 2007

Jason Pardini (Fresh)
First two time MVP of O'Hara Ultimate, most important player in continuing the spirit and excellence of the team. Without Jason, the team would have ceased to exist. Set the standard for all future leaders of the team.

Tricia Crouse (Viki)
Assistant captain in 2006-7, crucial in the girls' second place finish at states, selected to play on the Philadelphia YCC team.

Class of 2008

Monica Brady
As a player for 2 1/2 years, Monica made a significant contribution to the team, and especially, GirlSquad. At the time of her graduation, she was the leading scorer in GirlSquad history with over 70 goals in her time. Monica could be counted on for stellar defense as well as her tenacious offensive play. She was a key member of the first State Championship in O'Hara history and a true fighter, she will be most remembered for her indomitable spirit and her altercation at States in 2008. Final stats: 71 Goals, 25 Assists

Ryan Curran
One of the hardest working players to ever play for O'Hara Ultimate. During Curran's 2 1/2 years, he hardly took a point off and was constantly around the disc, coming up with spectacular catches, incredible layouts, and unbelievable D's. Curran also played twice for Team USA (prounounced "uw-sa") at Paganello Juniors. A key member of the team, Curran excelled at the Dominator position, a hybrid cutter/handler in a four handler zone offense. State Championship MVP for 2008. Holds record for Open team total scoring. Final Stats: 103 Goals, 145 Assists

Katie Erickson
Captain of O'Hara Ultimate and star player for O'Hara GirlSquad during the championship season of 2008. Led GirlSquad to only one loss versus a Pennsylvania based team, in the finals of the 2007 State Championship. Katie was a key player for both open and girls, and was one of the top handlers on the team for 2 of her 3 years playing. Also played for two years with Team USA and one year with SEPDA (YCC Mixed.) Holds Waste of Life career record for total scoring and career assists, and Girls Team record for single season assists (103). Final Stats: 15 Goals, 258 Assists (Combined Open and Girls)

Dan Kelly
Gunther was the first player to play for O'Hara Ultimate for four years. Stayed true to the embodiment of a Waste. Fantastic team player, always able to lighten the mood, always gave his best on the field, even when backpedaling to attempt an easy, unguarded catch...which he missed. Final Stats: 53 Goals, 20 Assists

Brian Magerr
Relied on throughout his career to shut down the opposition's top player. Extremely gifted handler, unrelenting defender. Undeniably one of the best players to ever play Ultimate for the Waste. If stats were kept on D's he would hold the record. Final States: 34 Goals, 74 Assists

Mike Szkudlapski
"Huck it deep, pray for Szkud," was the game plan for more than a few scoring drives. Szkud had the ability to come away with catches he had no business being around, his incredible layouts often energized the team. On defense, his marking skills proved to be unmatched. Szkud was also a skilled tactician and understood the game inside and out. Holds Waste of Life record for Career Goals. Final Stats: 141 Goals, 93 Assists

Sean Wilcox
Through his playing time at O'Hara, Wilcox was nothing if not consistent. He was able to raise his level of play senior year to become a critical handler for the team. Wilcox always kept a level head, played hard, and had a knack for calling the travel. Final Stats: 105 Goals, 89 Assists

Class of 2009

Christine Alizzi
A true athlete, Christine played for only her last semester at O'Hara, and became one of the most reliable defenders on GirlSquad. All-business, Christine added a valuable deep defender in all zone defenses, and was a constant scoring threat and a great cutter. Final Stats: 21 Goals, 9 Assists

Kevin Blattner (Splat)
Leaving the track team for a shot at Ultimate, Blattner picked up the game after Kairos, along with Christine and Tara, and became one of the most dominate players in the league. Blattner played for only one semester, but scored more times in one season that anyone in O'Hara history. Blattner never tired, ran his ass off the entire game, and was part of a shut down D that infuriated teams like Radnor. Waste of Life single season scoring record of 75. Final Stats: 75 Goals, 15 Assists

Tara Connolly
The final Senior Noob to earn the Waste of Fame, Tara came up with great catches, and sky-ing D's. She would play every position in the Wheel defense, without complaint, and dominate the opposing player. Tara was an incredibly versatile player, worked her hardest for the good of the team, and always displayed outstanding Spirit. Final Stats: 24 Goals, 5 Assists

Mike Coughlan (Whitey)
White was one of the best marking defenders in the Class of '09. Part of the Tripod, he stepped up to be a shutdown frontline defender who never seemed to tire. He played more savage games than anyone else on the open team. He was a huck-happy handler, who would occasionally connect, but his biggest value was scoring after the D. Final Stats: 59 Goals, 121 Assists

John Henkel (Tinkle, Tinklebell, Tink)
The captain of the 2009 team, a great leader, and huge connecting force for PHUEL as a whole. Henkel helped to network and connect PHUEL as it had never been before, and laid the groundwork for a very Spirited league. Henkel was the top handler and tactician for an offense that put up incredible numbers, and pulled out some unbelievable wins. Known early in his career as a player who could kill a drive, Henkel became the most reliable player to score, throw, defend, or simply outplay the opponent. Arguably the best captain of O'Hara Ultimate to date. Holds Waste of Life single season assist record (104) and Open Team career assist record. Final Stats: 36 Goals, 153 Assists

Jackie Loro (Jax)
The Spirit leader of not only GirlSquad, but O'Hara Ultimate as a whole. Jackie was the hardest working player on the field, as demonstrated by her playing through exhaustion at the O'Hara Invite. She was one of the most reliable players on the team, and even with all of her commitments; yearbook, costume club, swimming, always worked to be at her best on the field. Jackie was part of all the State Championship teams, never finishing lower than 3rd. Jackie never let up, and always inspired everyone to play harder. Her final stats reflect only a tiny fraction of what she meant to the team. A truly irreplaceable player and person. Final Stats: 9 Goals, 21 Assists

Dave Lynch (Sleeves)
One of the best defenders and MVP of the 2008-9 season. Incredible player, great field sense, awesome jumping ability and uncanny speed. Sleeves set up many scores, and was a player that opposing teams needed to plan around. Silent leader, very consistent, and rarely ever had a bad game. Scored a Callahan to end States in 2009 and secure a 5th place finish. Final Stats: 89 Goals, 38 Assists.

Rob Robinson (Squared)
Truly one of the best players in O'Hara history. Squared could outrun just about anyone in PHUEL, and was a game changing force. Tossed an incredible goal-to-goal huck to Sleeves to beat Radnor 16-15 in one of the most epic games in O'Hara history. Absolutely dominating defender, he completely shut down the deepest third of the field, and had the field sense to charge the middle and end opposing drives. Became a great handler in the invert offense. Holds Waste of Life career scoring record. Final Stats: 151 Goals, 61 Assists.
