Holy Ghost Prep
Ah, the spring, the snow is gone, the days are longer...finally, some time for Ultimate.
The first game of the spring for O'Hara Ultimate brought a brand new team, ready to test themselves against the experience of O'Hara. The coach, Tom Croskey, a former O'Hara teacher, wanted to give his team their first game experience and use it as a first step toward a successful first year. O'Hara wanted to get their game legs ready for more challenges to come. The game lasted all of 50 minutes with O'Hara dominating the entire way, on route to a 15 - 2 win.
Some highlights of the game included fantastic play from the Sophomore Boys, including very promising handling by Sean and Eric, spectacular catches form Russell and Brandon, steady leadership from Zak, and fantastic D from Frenchie. On the more experienced side, Squared recorded a slash, and added to that with an unbelievable point-block-layout-Callahan. Whitey and Henkel each had a slash on the assist side, and two new seniors, Harnish and Morrow each recorded a goal, with Morrow's goal being the game winner.
It was a great game, but not without some points to work on, cuts were looking sloppy, rounded off, or flat to the sideline, and some decisions from the handlers need to be worked on, but overall, a fantastic game. Next up, Radnor's Green Eggs and Spam tournament.
